Synopsis:

Scope of work consists of, but is not strictly limited to, the office remodeling of approximately 9,300 square feet on part of the 23rd floor of the Kluczynski Federal Building, 230 S. Dearborn St., Chicago, IL. It includes selective demolition throughout the space and reuse of much of the ceiling, doors, frames, hardware and sidelights, lighting and mechanical system components. Removal of asbestos containing floor finishes is included. New work includes installation of gypsum drywall partitions, sections of suspended ceiling, acoustical upgrades to existing partitions, carpeting and repainting. Electrical work includes new power outlets, modifications to lighting and controls, installation of new ballasts and lamps. Mechanical work includes plumbing modifications for a new pantry, installation of a package air conditioning unit for a data room and modifications to the existing ventilation system. A small part of the space will remain occupied during the remodeling. Work in this space must be done during Government non-occupied hours. The contractor is to provide all management, supervision, manpower, equipment and supplies necessary for this project
The contract completion time for this project is 120 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. A bid guarantee as well as performance and payment bonds will be required. The estimated cost range is between $500,000.00 and $1,00,000.00. This is a negotiated, best value procurement. The solicitation is open to all business concerns in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 and the size standard is $31 million. The Request for Proposal will be issued on or about April 14, 2008.


The Central Contractor Registration database is a part of the Business Partner Network, an e-gov initiative, and it will be used to validate vendor identity.
