Synopsis:

This is a pre-solicitation announcement for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Healthcare System, Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee Wisconsin. An Invitation for Bid will be issued on or about July 14, 2008 for a construction project to Renovate the 2nd Floor, Bldg. #200 for the Surgery Department Relocation at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines Illinois. Contractor shall provide all tools, materials, components and supervision for the interior renovation of approximately 13,000 square feet of space to accommodate three acute operating rooms and associated clinical/staff support areas. Work will include but not be limited to general construction, alternations, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical work, utility systems and asbestos abatement. This construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business firms (SDVOSB). All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation and specifications will be posted on Fedbizops, however the drawings are only available on CD upon written request to the issuing office. No telephone requests will be accepted. The solicitation will be issued on/about July 15, 2008 with the bid opening on/about August 15, 2008. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. The project magnitude range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $31.0M applies. Time for completion is 365 days after Notice to Proceed.
