The Wilmington VA Medical Center, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805 intends to issue a construction contract. The contractor shall supply all manpower, materials, and equipment needed to repair and upgrade Underground Storage Tanks (UST), Project 460-08-901, as required by the contract documents at Building 19 Generator, Building 7 T-1, and Building 17 T-14.
The work involves installing tank monitoring system, set up of temporary tanks, transfer of fuel to temporary tank, demo existing tank, monitoring system, old lines, and piping, excavate and replace conduit, install new conduit from tank to building, remove ols sump pump, fill bucket, manhole covers, concrete pad, piping and install all new 1 APT double wall suction/supply containment piping from tank to day tank, supply and install APT one piece tank sump, including entry boot fittings for all penetrations, supply and install new 15 gallon OPW spill containment unit, supply and install new lighter manhole covers, backfill new sump with pea gravel to tank pad, perform all UST sump and piping testing and retrofit notification as required by DNREC emergency generator UST regulation 2008. restore concrete tank pad and finish grade disturbed grass areas and seed, remove old supply, restore concrete around new spill containment unit, saw cut and restore concrete around new 15 gallon OPW spill containment unit.
