The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center 5500 Armstrong Rd., Battle Creek, Michigan, 49037 anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Relocate Supply Processing and Distribution to Bldg 136 (Relocate SPD Bldg 136)." The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and Part 36 (Construction) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as a 100% Total Set-Aside for Small Businesses. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, and travel to perform work under this project. This project will renovate approximately 5,200 square feet of space in Building 136 to relocate SPD from Building 7. The existing HVAC systems will be modified to support the new layout and air flow requirements. New walls will be constructed along with the necessary electrical and mechanical work to optimize work flow within the space. The existing air handlers serving the area will also be replaced.. The location of the work will be at the above stated address. The period of performance is yet to be determined. Magnitude of construction is expected to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. NAICS Code: 236220. The solicitation documents including specifications and drawings will be issued on or about Monday May 5, 2008. This date is not firm and may change due to events beyond our control. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of solicitation. Only one site visit is planned. Bids will be due 30 days after issuance of solicitation. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers.
