This project will construct an indoor range facility. The facility will be an approximately 10,000 SF single-story building, enclosed, consisting of a shooting range area, range control room, classroom, and miscellaneous support areas. Site demolition work includes the removal and disposal of existing asphalt pavement, existing building foundations, and existing chain link fencing. Excavation will be required. Additional site work includes installation of a termite control system, sanitary sewers, storm drainage, gas piping system, chain fencing, gravel driveways and parking areas, concrete slabs for equipment and at door openings, steel bollards, and electrical work. Work related to the new building includes concrete footings and foundation wall, exterior insulated cavity walls consisting of structural 8 inch thick tilt-up concrete panels with a 4-inch split-block exterior veneer finish, metal trusses, metal deck, rigid insulation, structural standing seam metal roof system, gutter and downspouts, metal wall panels, bullet resistant components, doors and frames, steel windows and frames, glazing, interior concrete partitions, 12-inch solid concrete block, CMU partitions, metal studs, gypsum board, ceramic tile walls and floor, epoxy vinyl flake floor system, access flooring, suspended acoustical ceiling system, overhead coiling doors, larger steel doors, and painting. Contractor will also have to coordinate construction of the building with a Range Integrator (a separate contractor responsible for delivery and installation of targetry, a public address system, and a bullet trap system). Force protection AT-FP measures are incorporated into the design. The performance period is 365 days. The estimated price range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The basis for award is the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable process. Proposals will be evaluated by the Government in accordance with the following criteria: Prime Contractor Experience; Prime Contractor and/or Subcontractor experience with Tilt-Up Concrete Construction, Steel Baffle Ceilings, and Range Ventilation; Key personnel experience; Past Performance of Prime Contractor; Past Performance of Subcontractors; and Price and Pro Forma Information. The estimated issue date is 8 May 2008 with an approximate proposal due date of 10 June 2008. This project is being advertised Subject to Availability of Funding (SAF).
