Synopsis:

The U.S. Geological Survey, Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center, Jamestown, ND, has a requirement for a bridge replacement. The project will consist of constructing a new roadway bridge crossing over the James River and related earthwork and paving required to construct new sections of roadway to and from the bridge. Some of the following activities will include clearing and grubbing; stripping topsoil; constructing roadway embankments; erosion control; driving steel piling at the bridge abutments; constructing reinforced concrete bridge abutments; shaping existing river banks adjacent to the new bridge and placing riprap rock to protect embankment and structure; placing the bridge superstructure and railing; installing hybrid roadway lighting; concrete approach slab paving; gravel embankment; asphalt paving; grading; and replacing native grasses. The contractor will be responsible for all security issues at the construction site pertaining to equipment, tools, and materials. The estimated cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about May 21, 2008, and close on or about June 20, 2008. The solicitation is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
