PROJECT NUMBER 103650:
Project comprises labor, material and services necessary for: The project generally consists of making modifications to an existing aerated lagoon wastewater treatment facility and constructing a new 1.1 MGD tertiary wastewater treatment plant. The work includes demolition and modifications to the existing ponds, structures and appurtenances. A new tertiary treatment plant will then be constructed in the area of two abandoned treatment lagoons with a new headworks, aeration basin, pump station, blower building, electrical rooms, secondary clarifiers, filtration, disinfection, sludge dewatering, effluent handling and associated facilities.
License required to bid project: A.
Successful bidder shall furnish payment and performance bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price.
Pre-bid Site Inspection: Bids will only be accepted from those Contractors having attended the MANDATORY pre-bid site inspection tour on February 21, 2008 at 9:30 A.M., at which time representatives of the State and prospective bidders shall meet at California Correctional Institution, Visitors Entrance Building, located at 24900 Highway 202, Tehachapi, CA. The States requirements for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation and other Contract requirements will be presented. Prime Contractors are encouraged to have their Key Administrator and DVBE office coordinator attend to receive this information and to have their questions answered. Bid Forms will be issued to qualified Bidders at the end of the tour.
Security Clearance: Bidders attention is directed to the deadline to contact Mr. Chuck Howell, Correctional Plant Supervisor, at Chuck.Howell@cdcr.ca.gov or 661-822-4402 ext. 4611, no later than 4:00 P.M., February 7, 2008, for the mandatory pre-bid site inspection, and provide (1) full name, (2) telephone number, (3) Social Security Number, (4) California Drivers License Number and expiration year or Identification Number and (5) date of birth; for security clearance to enter Institution.
Drawings and Project Manual: Bidders may order Drawings and Project Manuals from Winslow Reprographics, Inc, 2337 Lexington Street, Sacramento, CA. 95815, attention Mr. Steve Fankhauser; Telephone 916-921-9311. There is a non-refundable charge of $135, inclusive of sales tax (check or money order made payable to Winslow Reprographics, Inc.) for each set of Drawings and Project Manuals which shall be received before sets can be sent to bidder. Bidder shall indicate Project Work Order Number on check or money order. Order shall include physical address to which sets will be delivered (P.O. Box number is not acceptable), contact person at delivery address, and phone number. Phone orders, cash, or C.O.D. requests will not be accepted. Drawings and Project Manuals are not to be returned.

Escrow Bid Documents: The 3 lowest bidders are required to submit Escrow Bid Documents within 48 hours after bid opening. Refer to Project Manual Document 00800, Supplementary Conditions.
Bid opening will be March 20, 2008, at 2:00 P.M, at 707 Third Street, Suite 3-305, West Sacramento, California 95605.
States estimated cost: $23,000,000. Project duration: 730 calendar days.
