It is the intent of this agency to award a sole source contract under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements. This agency intends to award to Sutter Equipment Company, Novato, CA.
The requirements for the trail equipment must meet the following specifications:
Description of Equipment is as follows: SWECO 480 Trail Tractor with compactor, IHI Mini excavator NX15, IBEX Loader/ Carrier & Equipment Trailer. This equipment is rented without operator. Transportation of the equipment to the job site is the responsibility of the Forest Service. The period of the rental contract will be from approximately May 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008. Payments to be made monthly in arrears.

This notice of intent is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. However, The Government will consider all capability statements, addressing the specifications above, received by 2:00 PM on May 6, 2008. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses to this notice of intent are received by 2:00 PM on May 6, 2008, the contract award for this Trail Equipment Rental will be made to Sutter Equipment Company, Novato CA.
Market Research was conducted for the availability of Trail Equipment Rental and the above mentioned company was the only source found to be able to supply this service as required.
