Description
Subject: Jacob Creek Job Corp Center, Bristol, TN. Instructor for the Advanced Manufacturing Industry, Welding Program
Description of Requirement: The Jacobs Creek Job Corps Center has a requirement for an Instructor for the Advanced Manufacturing Industry, Welding Program. This requirement is advertised in accordance with the Acquisition of Commercial Items, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12. The performance period is from July 01, 2008 through June 30, 2009. Prior to award the contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database located at http://www.ccr.gov. Personnel performing the work must be certified, licensed and accredited by the American Welding Society in the state of Tennessee as Arc Welder, Flux Core Arc Welder, Gas Metal Arc Welder and certified in aluminum and stainless steel tig welding. Previous teaching experience is preferred. All other requirements are included in the solicitation, which shall be posted on the FEDBIZOPPS website for downloading.

Set-aside Status, This acquisition is a total 100% set aside for small business
The NAICS code for this project is 611519 and the small business size standard is $6.5 million.The Government expects to enter into a Firm Fixed Price contract for a base year with 4 option years. A contract may be awarded with or without discussions resulting from the solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforms to the solicitation that will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors as outlined in the solicitation considered.
A Request for Quotes (RFQ) will be issued by this office to meet this requirement. We anticipate the solicition to be issued on or about February 28, 2008 however this date may change and we invite all interested parties to check frequently for a possible change to this date.
It is anticipated that award may be issued on or about April 25, 2008.
