Synopsis:

The Savannah District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a requirement for a Beach Renourishment Project at Tybee Island Georgia. The project work consists of placing dredged material along Tybee Island Georgia beaches using material from approved borrow site located approximately 1.5 miles offshore. The work shall be accomplished under one of six (6) alternate bids (Alternate A, B, C, D, E, or F). The amount of material to be placed varies from approximately 700,000 cubic yards to 1,200,000 cubic yards depending on the alternate awarded. The Government intends to award a single contract from this solicitation for either Alternate A, Alternate B, Alternate C, Alternate D, Alternate E, or Alternate F. Work is restricted to Coast Guard Certified, hydraulic pipeline dredge equal or greater than 24 inches. The Government will evaluate all bids and award will be made contingent upon available funding which will be announced at the time of bid opening. The bid guarantee amount shall be based on the contractors total bid for the highest priced alternate. Bidders will be required to submit prices on all line items on the bid schedule; failure to do so will render the bid non-responsive. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $15,000,000.00. This solicitation will be issued on or about 20 June 2008 and open on or about 21 July 2008. This is an Unrestricted Acquisition. Coast Guard Certification of Vessels is required in accordance with the Seagoing Barge Act.
