The California Department of Education (CDE) is seeking qualified translators and proofreaders to perform, on an as-needed basis, all related work necessary to provide Translation Services for the CDEs Clearinghouse for Multilingual Documents (CMD), Curriculum Frameworks and Instructional Resources Division. Translation services include the translation and proofreading of English-language parental notification source documents into a number of languages, and the review of translations provided to the CDE by other parties. Additional information is contained in the Request for Qualifications (RFQ), a copy of which will be provided upon request. The CMD is a Web-based service created to make available to school districts translations of parental information templates. Finalized translations will be made available through the CMD so that district users can access them, download them , and modify them to include local information (e.g., local contact information, local school board policy information). Potential applicants must submit application packets that fulfill the requirements outlined in the RFQ. (Note: This RFQ opportunity does not include interpreter services.) Application packets must be postmarked no later than July 8, 2008 so as to be delivered to the CDE in a timely manner.
