The Department of Fish and Game is accepting sealed bids at the North Central Region Headquarters, 1701 Nimbus Road, Ste A, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 until February 12, 2008 @ 3:00 pm. At which time, they will be publicly opened and read for the lease of four (4) tractors equivalent to an International S2000, single drive wheels, with a 275 hoursepower or larger diesel engine and an adjustiing fifth wheel.
The lease period will be from March 1, 2008 through February 28, 2010, during which period each tractor will be driven approximately 1,500 miles per week to pull a 2800 gallon tailer loaded with fish and water. Maximum weight of the loaded trailer is 28,750 pounds. Tractor must come equipped with a Jake Brake, "Hot Lead" off the alternator, short exhaust pipe, and no wind deflector on tractor. NOTE: The tractors will be used to transport live fish from Nimbus, Mokelumne and Feather River Hatcheries to the Vallejo Area. Because the trailer has a limited capacity for substaining the fish, the contractor must provide an equivalent replacement tractor within two hours after notice of the need for one, at the point of break-down, in the event the leased tractors break down while trasporting a load of fish. The successful bidder will provide maintenance to the tractors.
It will be the bidders responsibility to see that their bid is delivered to the above address prior to the scheduled opening. Bids received after 3:00 pm on February 12, 2008, or submitted on other than the bid form provided, will be rejected. The Department reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bid. Bidders competing in this solicitation will be required to achieve a minimum of 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation, or fulfill the Good Faith Effort steps outlined by the DBVE program requirements. |
