This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, RI intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract per the Characteristics and Requirement Document for a Towed Array Shaker Machine to test towed arrays. The machine will be used to stress array modules to determine the fault and problem areas. Improvements will then be designed for the arrays and re-tested in the facility. The award will be made on the basis of Best Value. Each company will be required to demonstrate understanding of the technical requirements, system reconfigurability, flexibility, and ease of expansion, number versus capability of shakers, and the satisfaction of interface requirements. The evaluation factors of each company will be as follows: Technical Capability and Price with subfactors of technical approach, schedule, price, and past performance. This acquisition is Set-Aside 100% for Small Business Concerns. See note 1. The solicitation will be posted no earlier than 17 March 2008. For questions contact Jacob L.
