The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is soliciting proposals in response to a Request for Proposals re-issued as of August 4, 2008. In general, potential contractors will be required to provide water filtration services for sole-source domestic water wells to remove hydrocarbon contamination, volatile organic compounds, semi- volatile organic compounds, and heavy metal contamination (both particulate and dissolved). This contract may also be used for the removal of pesticides, herbicides, PCBs, cyanide and other contaminants as required. In addition, there may be some commercial wells where services are provided. Purchase, installation, maintenance, and removal of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) and Ion Exchange water filtration systems. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: GAC canisters, ion exchange resin filters, insulated (freeze) shelters, heater for insulated shelter, backwashing aggregate filter, manganese green sand filter, chlorinator system (chlorine injection), aeration system, [and] additional five-micron filters and additional sample taps. A statewide contract, or contracts, may be awarded as a consequence of this solicitation process. Responders are not being requested to submit proposals for pre-defined regions of the state as was the case in the original solicitation for these services. A PRE-SOLICITATION CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD AUGUST 14, 2008 AT 1:30 P.M. AT THE TCEQ HEADQUARTERS, 12100 PARK 35 CIRCLE, BLDG. D, RM. D- 191, AUSTIN, TEXAS 78753. ATTENDANCE AT THE PRE-SOLICITATION CONFERENCE IS NOT MANDATORY, BUT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Interested contractors should download the PDF file containing the RFP and an Excel file containing a speadsheet to be used to submit pricing.
