| PROJECT LOCATION: Texas A&M; University, College Station, TX TOTAL BUDGET: $4,500,000.00 DEADLINES FOR QUALIFICATIONS SUBMISSION: August 7, 2008, 2:00 p.m. PRODUCT/SERVICE/ACTIVITY REQUESTED: Facilities Planning & Construction Department (FP&C); on behalf of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M; University System (Owner) and Texas A&M; University are soliciting statements of qualifications for selection of an Architect/Engineer firm for Veterinary Imaging and Cancer Treatment Center (Project), in accordance with the terms, conditions, and requirements set forth in the Request for Qualifications (RFQ). REQUIREMENTS OF RESPONSE: The requirements for the Qualifications Submission and other information concerning this project and solicitation are set forth in a document entitled € Request For Qualifications For Architect/Engineering Professional Services € , Veterinary Imaging and Cancer Treatment Center attached to this solicitation. The Qualifications Submission should include the following information: 1) A statement of the Firm € s qualifications; 2) A list and description of related projects by the Firm and thoughts on the approach to the design; 3) Resumes of the Prime Firm and Primary Consultant € s key personnel who would be assigned to the project, including experience on related projects. THE TEXAS A&M; UNIVERSITY SYSTEM HISTORICALLY UNDERUTILIZED BUSINESS INITIATIVE is to involve qualified Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) to the greatest extent feasible in the A&M; System € s construction contracting, professional services, and purchases, leases or rental of all supplies, materials, services, and equipment. Historically Underutilized Businesses shall be afforded every opportunity to participate in this construction project. The Texas A&M; University System has determined that subcontracting opportunities exist for this contract. Responses to this Qualifications solicitation are to include qualifications for the Prime A/E firm. In order to be considered to continue on to the shortlist interview selection process this Qualifications submittal must include a HUB Subcontracting Plan for all consultants assembled and proposed, to assist in the design services on this project. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT FACILITY: The College of Veterinary Medicine desires to select a Project Architect/Engineer team to design a 8,000 square foot Veterinary Imaging and Cancer Treatment Facility at Texas A&M; University, College Station, Texas. This facility is to house a powerful permanent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine, a linear accelerator (linac), a computed tomography (CT) machine and support areas: (3) offices, storage room, workroom, (2) sedation/ recovery rooms, dosimetry room, equipment and (2) controls rooms. The facility will be an addition to the existing Large Animal Hospital and will be designed to examine and treat small and large animals. The Planning Amount for this project is $4,500,000. The Planning Amount includes an Amount Available for Construction Contract (AACC) of $3,528,000. Fees, furnishings, other work, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies make up the balance of the Planning Amount. SELECTION CRITERIA: Qualifications submittals will be used to develop a shortlist of 5 A/E teams for further consideration on this project. The criteria used to select the shortlist will be as set forth in the RFQ document attached to this solicitation.
