| The Texas Tech University System has contracted with Western Builders
of Amarillo, Inc. to provide construction services for the School of
Pharmacy Expansion located in Amarillo, Texas. As the Construction
Manager,Western Builders of Amarillo, Inc. will receive material and
subcontract bids for this facility until 2:00 P.M., CDST
Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Proposals shall be addressed to:

Bids should be delivered to the Amarillo address listed above. FAX
bids are preferred, and telephone bids will be accepted, however
an € original hard copy € must be delivered to Western Builder € s office
within 24 hours.
The scope of the project includes a 23,508 sf addition to the existing
School of Pharmacy, including all associated Landscaping, Building
Construction, and Equipment as per the contract documents
labeled € Texas Tech University Amarillo € School of Pharmacy Addition €
for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. All material
supply and subcontractor work will be contracted with Western Builders
as the Construction Manager.

Subcontractors and suppliers may obtain one set of documents from Western Builders. Copies may also be purchased directly at JJ
Equipment Repair from Jeff @ (806) 438-3125 in Lubbock or at Pope
Reproductions from Gilbert @ (806) 373-1033 in Amarillo.
The Owner and Construction Manager shall have the right to reject any
and all bids, and to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid
received and to accept the bid which, in its judgment, is in it € s own
best interests. The Owner reserves the right to modify the Contract
Documents and to re-bid the project, if necessary, to meet the
budgetary requirements. The Owner qualifies for exemption from local
and state sales tax. The retainage on this project will be 10% as
described in the general conditions. The Construction Manager reserves
the right to require a 100% Performance Bond and / or a 100% Payment
Bond from the individual subcontractors and suppliers as applicable.
All proposals shall remain in effect for a period of sixty (60) days
from the bid date. This project has been designated as a drug free
site and all personnel will be tested and proven negative to illegal
drug use before entering the property. All bidders must include in
their bid the cost of drug testing for their employees who will be on
the jobsite.
The attached Sample Insurance Certificate indicates the required
limits of insurance as well as Special Conditions for this project.
The project schedule is available to view at Western Builders. Each
Bidder is responsible for familiarizing himself or herself with the
Project Schedule, and acknowledging so on their bid.
