PROJECT DESCRIPTION, PROJECT PHASING AND BUDGET
The Strategic Master Plan for the Cockrell School of Engineering seeks to set a new standard for translating campus needs into long-term capital project options. The successful respondent will be tasked with providing a strong conceptual vision for a new physical framework, which proposes how renovation, expansion and new construction can enable the Cockrell School of Engineering to meet their mission and strategic goals. Interested respondents will need to show how they can bring to the task a significant depth of forward-thinking abilities, integrated with a comprehensive knowledge of best practices.
Space is an increasingly valuable resource. Rapidly rising construction costs are forcing campus to make the most of existing space, while at the same time; new areas of academic research are appearing creating an immediate need for more space. It is critical that the Cockrell School be able to maximize space resources, and to do so quickly, allowing rapid pursuit of new research opportunities. This solicitation seeks a respondent who will lead the creation of a space plan which will establish this effort as a paradigm shift in academic facility planning for the Cockrell School.
The successful respondent will provide guidance for shaping the scope of work as needed to position the Strategic Master Plan for the Cockrell School of Engineering at the forefront of academic facility planning.
A Pre-Submittal Conference is scheduled for January 28, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. located at the ECJ Building, 10th Floor Engineering Foundation Room at 301 East Dean Keeton, Austin, TX 78705. We look forward to your attendance.
