Synopsis:

The United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Infantry Weapons Systems, Quantico, Virginia intends to solicit on a Sole Source basis under the statutory authority permitting Other Than Full and Open Competition 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements to Gentex Corporation of Simpson, PA for the following Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) items: D11925-3 - 1/2-inch X liner (8 ea); D7087-2P - Thermo plastic liner (8 ea); D7087-30P - Thermo plastic liner (2 ea); C4473-4 - Leather Ear Pads (10 sets); A8445-12 - Helmet Bag (12 ea); D11801-1 - PN-HALO helmet (8 ea); D11905-1 - PN-HALO helmet (2 ea); B2032 Earphones (20 ea); B11827-1 - Flex Boom (20 ea); D11022-2 - Lower Cable, with PTT & maritime adapter (20 ea); D12449-1 - Down Lead with TP JS-101 (20 ea); and C2080-4 - Microphone Cable (10 ea). This contract will be awarded under FAR Part 12. Gentex Corporation is the only known vendor of these direct replacement parts and is therefore the only vendor deemed qualified to provide these items. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 339920. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting a white paper, technical data for the item, and past performance data no later than 3:00 pm EST, 27 May 2008 to Commanding General, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: IWS Randall Jewett, 2200 Lester St., Quantico, VA 22134. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
