The purpose of Modification 0001 is to provide answers to the questions received in response to N00178-08-Q-1280, as follows:
1. The chamber temperature requirements state 50 deg F to positive 160 deg F. Is this accurate or should it be negative 50 deg F to positive 160 deg F?
The range should be negative 50 degrees F to positive 160 degrees F.
2. What is considered the live load in the requirements for the floor capacity? We understand it to be a fixed non moving mass. Please clarify if the load is giving off heat for btu design considerations.
Yes, live load is a fixed, non-moving mass. The load should not generate any heat.
3. Is the conditioning system condenser to be water or air cooled?
The condenser should be air-cooled.
4. Is there an output format for the data that is downloaded from the USB port on the logging device?
Any format should be acceptable as long as we know what to expect.
5. Are the power requirements at 60 or 50 hertz?
The power should operate at 60 Hz.
6. I understand that delivery date for the unit is Sep 30, 2008. Is this the correct date?
Yes, delivery is required NLT 30 September 2008.
7. The chamber temperature range is positive 50 degrees F to positive 160 degrees F. Is this correct?
No, the range should be negative 50 deg F to positive 160 deg F.
8. There is no heating or cooling performance stated?
There are no specific heating and cooling requirements beyond what is necessary to meet the temperature specifications.
9. Can the heating elements and cooling evaporator be located in a conditioning pleum with air circulation, in the chamber, separated from the work space by a shroud?
As long as the heating elements and condenser are isolated from the test items, a shroud may be acceptable.
10. The heating elements are not required to be temperature limited?
As long as the temperature performance is within the given specifications (range and accuracy), the temperature of the heating elements should not need to be limited.
