Technologies Available for Licensing
The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) has a collection of products that fit in the Chemical, Biological, and Nuclear Detection (CBN) industry. These products give First Responder teams the ability to quickly analyze chemical, biological, or radiological incidents.
Manufacturing
RAD Buddy Smart Dosimeter
Related Patents: US 6,765,214 B1
The RAD Buddy Smart Dosimeter is a radiation dosimeter which monitors and evaluates radiological risks. The dosimeter provides an audible alarm indication reminding the user to check the dosimeter indication periodically, that a predetermined accumulated dose has been prematurely reached, and that the safe stay time has elapsed. The dosimeter has a small 4-digit LCD display with stay time programming pushbuttons, a watch-type battery, a miniature alarm (buzzer), and a reset switch. It also includes a built-in Bluetooth connection for transmitting data.

Accu-Frisk-Radiation Survey Rate and Distance Monitor
Related Patents: Patent Pending
There are many errors that can occur when frisking an area for radiation. INL engineers have developed the Accu- Frisk Radiation Survey Rate and Distance Monitor that combats the three most frequent errors in frisking. Accu-Frisk is an inexpensive, handheld battery operated radiation detection device designed to assist First Responder and Hazmat teams. It solves the three primary errors when frisking: moving too quickly over an area (turbo frisking), holding the device to far away from the surface, and bringing the probe in contact with a contaminated surface.

NORMS (Network-Oriented Radiation Monitoring System)
Related Patents: Patent Pending
Summary:

NORMS is a new radiation detection monitoring technology, which can improve safeguards to protect against a variety of unwanted events, such as theft of nuclear weapons and special nuclear materials and radiological sabotage. This device is capable of operating in a networked or a stand-alone configuration. It is capable of detecting both neutrons and gamma rays simultaneously, comparing the detected levels against configurable alarm set points, and then notifying a remote or a local location, respectively.

The INL is soliciting a written indication of interest from industry partners interested in funding a collaborative technology development project and/or entering into a license agreement for the purpose of developing and commercializing this technology.

Interested parties should respond thirty (30) days after publication. Interested parties should send a description of their company and their ability to commercialize this technology to the contact listed below. Any questions or inquiries should be directed to the contact listed below.
