| Emergency Justification: | Replacement of the Uninterrupted Power source (UPS) system at Central Administrative building. The average life of the UPS system is between 8 and 10 years. Our system is 16 years of age and is in dire need of replacement. The parts that make up the existing system have been absolute for the past 8 years and it is impossible to acquire the needed parts. In the event of a power outage or spikes the UPS system maintains an uninterrupted power source to all the Tollways computer systems. Those systems include the Mainframes, revenue collection system, I-pass and customer service functions, networks and other emergency systems. .i.e. Dispatch, fire panel, Holon systems, Illinois State Police system etc. In the event of a failure of the UPS system the computer system would experience a Hard crash which would cause extensive damage to the hardware and significant cost in the replacement of those systems.
