The United States Secret Service (USSS) intends to purchase systems and equipment to provide for the repair and reworking of defective cellular telephone devices, including the ability to replace defective components within the phones. The system will include infrared heating, remote camera and viewing system, temperature control system with remote monitoring capability and all necessary tools and parts for efficient operation. USSS is establishing a cellular telephone forensics facility that will initially focus on the instruction of forensic techniques for the law enforcement community. The systems and equipment in this synopsis will allow for the repair of inoperable cell phone equipment to enable the use of forensic procedures.
