The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award on a sole source basis a Purchase Order to Slone Epidemiology Center, Boston University. The purpose of the purchase shall include quarterly electronic versions of the Slone Drug Dictionary including consultation services by a pharmacist representative of the Slone Epidemiology Center. The Slone Drug Dictionary is a computerized system developed and maintained by the Slone Epidemiology Center (SEC) of Boston University. It is an epidemiologic research tool designed to code prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, as well as products classified as dietary supplements, including herbals and other natural products. The authority for this procurement is FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The period of performance shall be one (1) year beginning with award of the purchase order. Anticipated award date is August 20, 2008. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the required services are encouraged to identify themselves and provide written notification to the Contracting Officer, within seven (7) days from the date of this synopsis. A determination not to compete this proposed action based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
