Synopsis:

Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to procure two (2) refurbished Stationary Magnetic Particle Units (SMPU) on a sole source basis with Gould-Bass Company, Inc., Pomona, California, under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. A logistics support plan is already in place for the Gould-Bass Company SMPUs and a new acquisition with a different manufacturer/part number would require an entirely new logistics support plan. Gould-Bass Company, Inc. is the only source capable of refurbishing the units in the timeframe required to meet the fleet s operational needs. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement.
