Opportunity Summary
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of State Lands (DSL or Agency) is looking for individual/s to complete a
juniper-thinning project on state lands in southeastern Oregon. Work outlined in this
Request For Proposal (RFP) is to be completed by June 30, 2009. Individuals interested in
performing the work identified in the following section should submit a response prior to
the closing of this Request For Proposal. Depending upon bid amount project size may vary.

GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project consists of approximately 137-acres roughly 50-miles south of Jordan Valley and
8-miles east of 3-Forks adjacent to the Idaho-Oregon state line. Depending upon bid amount,
acreage may be increased. Work will entail clearing juniper tree stands by a combination of
lopp and scatter and cut/fell. Trees to be cut/fell will be flagged, all remaining trees
will be lopped and scattered. Refer to attached Scope of Work and location map. All work
is to be done by hand.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIREMENTS
Project area is approximately 137 acres. Access is very good with a good desert two-track
road dissecting the project area. Terrain is relatively flat on the southern two-thirds,
with the upper one third being steep. Vehicles are limited to existing roads. Soils are
loamy and may afford access through most weather conditions. During wet weather conditions
the access may become severely limited due to road condition. Only juniper trees will be
cut.
