This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial supplies prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; QUOTATIONS are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The solicitation number is AG- 04M3-S-08-0045A and this requirement is being issued as a Request for Quote. The procurement is 100% set-aside for small business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 111940- small business size standard is .75 million. The USDA Forest Service, Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, R-6 Blue Mountain Area, PO Box 907, Baker City, OR 97814.



The scope of work consists of:

Item 1: The supply and delivery of 100 tons of alfalfa hay delivered to the Starkey Experimental Forest hay barn. 2nd or 3rd crop alfalfa-No Grass, feed analysis to certify: (2a) 16-20% crude protein, (2b) minimum 55% TDN, (2c) minimum 130 relative feed value. 2 string bales nte 2 X 2 X 5 . NO MOLD-moldy bales will be rejected on delivery. Quote prices may be faxed to 541-523-1215.



Item 2: The supply and delivery of 200 tons of alfalfa hay, delivered to Starkey Exp. Forest hay barn. Hay is to be first, second or third crop alfalfa, no grass, and a feed analysis report will be required to certify: (2a) minimum 14% crude protein, (2b) minimum 50% TDN. Mid-size or big bales, up to 3 X 4 (1500 lbs). Free of mold moldy bales will be rejected on delivery.

DELIVERY: The hay is to be delivered to the Starkey Experiment Forest and Range hay barn that is approximately 30 miles from La Grande, Oregon off State Hwy 244. Access will be through 8' gates. Exact driving directions will be given to the contract awardee. Contractor will contact Brian Dick at 541-962-6539 to arrange delivery times.
