    Description; Information:
    NOTICE TO CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is soliciting bids for the construction of the new stadium project at Fort Valley State University. A copy of the bid documents can be obtained by contacting Ms. Lois Heine at Ellis Ricket & Associates, Architects, P.O. Box 3010, Valdosta, Georgia 31604, telephone (229) 242-3556.
The Board of Regents encourages the participation of minority and women-owned enterprises. Construction professionals who utilize qualified minority subcontractors may qualify for a Georgia state income tax deduction for qualified payments made to minority subcontractors. (Ref: O.C.G.A. 48-7-38.)
The following is a brief description of the project:
Fort Valley State University Stadium: This project includes the demolition of the existing stadium and the construction of a new 10,000 seat stadium at the current football field and track. The new stadium is to include an entry plaza, a metal bleacher system, two-tiered custom press box/presidents box, elevator, concessions area, restrooms, ticket booths, and miscellaneous support spaces.
The construction of the Stadium Project will be concurrent with the construction of an adjacent Student Center Project, and a high degree of coordination will be required.
Construction is anticipated to start in late November, 2008.
