Synopsis:

THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED FOR REVIEW AND PRINTING ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS WEBSITE (www.fbo.gov) IN APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS. The Forest Service is in need of precommercial tree thinning and stand improvement activities to reduce the tree density and, by the deliberate selection of leave trees, improve the overall health and condition of the stand based on the prescribed objectives. Tree selection and cutting of undesirable or excess trees will provide space for the leave trees to grow and develop, reduce the incidence of insect and diseases that affect growth, and undesirable tree qualities. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed work over the entire unit. PROJECT IS LOCATED on the Cascade Ranger District, Boise National Forest. Contract area is approximately 30 miles northeast of Cascade, Idaho. Access roads are 498, 400 and road 402. Some units are closed to all off-road and off-trail motorized travel . The Summary Information Chart that will be in the solicitation will show approximate distance for units that are walk-in. ESTIMATED BEGINNING DATE is scheduled for August 18, 2008, with 44 calendar days for completion. NAICS code: 115310. Size Standard: $6.5 Million. See numbered note #1.
