Synopsis:

The USDA-ARS, Cotton research station, Shafter California has a requirement for a spray on roofing insulation.

Project is to apply foam roof insulation to building #119 at the Shafter research and extension center 17053 N. Shafter Ave., Shafter Ca.

Installed product (elastomeric, acrylic, or equivalent) must provide an insulation value of R19 or greater, and meet California title 24 energy standars for reflectance and emissivity. The building is a Butler building, approximately 120' 4"x 25'3" (approximately 3000ft²) The roof is low slope (5%) pitch and composed of formed metal. Formed, flat-topped roof ridges (1 1/2" height x 2" wide) are spaced at 12" intervals. The building has two HVAC units mounted above the roof surface, which is penetrated by 13 assorted vents or exhausts for fume hoods, water heated, and attic ventilation. Metal rain gutters extend beyond the eave drip line on both sides of the long dimension of the building. The roof will require some rust removal and or application of sealant or primer. Contractor will be responsible for cleanup and disposal of construction debris from project site.
