Description
The US Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service in Pendleton has a requirement for a new or used high-wheeled, self propelled sprayer for application of liquid farm chemicals. This equipment will be used in support of data collection activities for (1) large-plot tillage research investigating changes in soil biochemical properties with a change from conventional wheat-fallow cropping to highly productive perennial grass production, and (2) field-scale research of relationships between crop spectral reflectance properties and crop N, leaf chlorophyll, or grain protein content. In small plot research, the wheel-base of the sprayer will be widened to clear 12-ft plots, and it will be high enough to clear taller crops. In field research, optical sensors will be mounted in front of the sprayer for sensing the light reflected and heat emitted from the crop. The sensors will be operated at the same time the sprayer is used to apply chemicals to the crop. A used Spra-Coupe 3000 Series sprayer manufactured by Spra-Coupe will meet the needs of the above research. Features used with less than 2500 hours of operation. Four wheel. Diesel powered, two wheel drive, cab with A/C. Wheelbase extendable to 12-ft, platform extendable to 6-ft. 60-ft foldable spray boom. Operating spray system (pump, tank, flow rate controller, spray boom, nozzles). In good mechanical condition and field ready.
