One Speech and Language Pathologist to provide services for Special Education Students at Metropolitan State Hospitals Golden Vista School. The hours to be 20-25 hours per week for 52 weeks for a total of 1300 hours.
The Speech Pathologist will provide appropriate assessments and recommendations from Speech and Language evaluation instruments, provide audiological testing and Assistive Technology.
Organizes and maintains a calendar to attend all IEPs idividualized Education Program) from 30 Day Reviews, Annual to Tri-Annual IEPs. Observe students in classrooms: to evaluate and provide appropriate LSHS recommendations for placement. Review students records, organize information, and determine appropriate Speech and Language. Pre-conference with staff (Administrators and teachers) regarding problems and identify ways to cope with them in understanding students needs.
Develop objectives for use in classroom and educate teachers on Speech and Language issues. Consult with teachers on effective methods in helping students in preparation of Speech and Language placement. Conduct and organize training programs for professional staff, parents and paraprofessional staff. Services will be provided as IEP indicates.
Possession of State of California Speech Pathology License from the Department of consumer Affairs: Medical Quality Board.
