The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS) has a requirement for certain spare parts for NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) Transmitters manufactured by International Radio and Electronics Corporation (IREC), also known as Crown Broadcast, of Elkhart, Indiana. Specifically, the parts to be acquired are 4 each Crown 1000 Watt Power Amp (IREC Part Number 900570), 4 each Crown WR300 Transmitter Populated Chassis (IREC Part No. 900519), 4 each Crown Power Supply for 1000 Watt Transmitter (IREC Part No. 130200) and 4 each Crown Populated WR100 Transmitter Chassis (IREC Part No. 900488). Delivery shall be made F.O.B. Destination to a facility located in Rochester, New York within 90 days after award. This acquisition will be accomplished using simplified acquisition procedures through the issuance of Request for Quotation (RFQ) DG133W-08-RQ-0836. It is anticipated that this RFQ will be issued on or about August 6, 2008 and close on or about August 21, 2008. This RFQ will be posted on FedBizOpps. The anticipated award date is August 28, 2008. NOAA expects to negotiate this acquisition on a sole source basis with IREC because IREC is the sole manufacturer of these parts, and NOAA does not possess drawings of these parts which can be used for reprocurement purposes. Although NOAA expects that only IREC can provide the required parts, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation (not later than the closing date of the RFQ), which shall be considered by NOAA.
