Synopsis:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a sole-source, fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multi-year contract utilizing commercial item acquisition procedures with Global Microwave Systems, Carlsbad, CA 92008 under RFQ E006269. The contract will be for a base and four (1) year option periods. The maximum authorized total is stated at $15.5 million. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Global Microwave Systems(GMS) will provide commercial “off-the-shelf” digital microwave systems compatible with previously deployed digital equipment. At the present time, numerous digital requirements are installed and being utilized through the FBI field sites and given the unique connectivity requirements of the major transmission/receive systems, GMS is the only known manufacturer of this type of equipment. In addition, use of GMS’ brand products ensures the agency maintains the integrity of the warranty provided by GMS at the time of the original equipment purchase. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 4:00PM EST, August 11, 2008, or via facsimile to the attention of: Renee L. Braun, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-6103. Information received, will be solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System Number (NAICS) is 334220 and the size standard is 750 employees. The contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. The awardee shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database and also the Online Representations and Certification (ORCA) at http://orca.bpn.gov.
