| Brief Description: The County Commissioners of Charles County are hereby requesting proposals from qualified parties for the design, construction and operation of a new Transfer Station to be located at the Charles County Sanitary Landfill in Waldorf, Maryland. Responsibilities for landfill operations are required, but will be at significantly reduced disposal capacity.
Proposal documents may be obtained, in person, at the Purchasing Office, Room B-130, Charles County Government Building, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, Maryland, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by calling (301) 645-0656. Proposals will be accepted in the Purchasing Office until 3:00 p.m. on September 5, 2008. A Bid Bond in the amount of $100,000.00 will be required. Proposals may not be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of the submission deadline.
A pre-proposal meeting will be conducted at the Charles County Sanitary Landfill, 12301 Billingsley Road, East, Waldorf, Maryland at 10:00 a.m. on July 24, 2008.

The County will respond, in writing, to all questions received on or before 12:00 noon on August 22, 2008.

The County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities in the proposals received when such waiver is in the best interest of Charles County.
