Davis-Monthan AFB (DMAFB) AZ plans to purchase the following on a sole source basis from Fisher Scientific Company LLC, of Suwanee GA: 81 ea. aluminized proximity coats; 81 ea. aluminized proximity pants; 81 pr. aluminized wristlet proximity gloves. Contracting without providing for full and open competition is permitted in this case by the following exception to the requirement at FAR Subpart 6.1 -- Full and Open Competition: 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The above items are products of Morning Pride Mfg LLC, dba Total Fire Group. The DMAFB fire department presently has only Morning Pride proximity clothing for issue to firefighters. For safety reasons having to do with compatibility concerns, Morning Pride is the only equipment acceptable to the department. Per Total Fire Group, Fisher Scientific is its "sole source dealer for the US military." This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement and is not a request for competitive proposals. Firms wishing to challenge the sole source award must submit information demonstrating the ability to provide the above items or items that are absolutely compatible (including the ability to mix and match) with our existing stock.
