THIS ACQUISITION IS SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION ONLY. The FAA is seeking A GENERAL CONTRACTOR to perform the following scope of work. Work consists of but is not limited to the following:1. Remove existing bituminous and concrete pavement of approximately 20' by 185' within existing joint lines. Provide new concrete pavement to match existing joint lines. Stage the paving work in two phases to allow single-lane traffic at all times.2. Remove existing 3.5' wide by 75.5' long concrete sidewalk with landing and steps. Provide new 8.5' wide, single-slope sidewalk against building without steps. Provide 9' high, free-standing canopy 1' from building. Extend canopy roof to building at entrance door with flexible flashing. Slope entire canopy roof at 1/8" per foot to West. Posts shall be embedded in minimum 2.5' deep concrete footings. Provide photoelectric operated exterior lighting for a minimum of 20 foot-candles nighttime lighting illumination. Provide power from the existing exterior light circuit above doorway after removal of light fixture.3. Provide 9' high (clear), free-standing entrance canopy clear of existing landing and handrails. Provide flexible flashing against building. Slope canopy roof at 1/8" per foot to West. Posts shall be embedded in minimum 2.5' deep concrete footings. 4. Provide rubber stair treads and landings in Automation Wing Stairwell "A" from basement to attic level.5. Repair damaged plaster area of Boiler Room B116 North wall with cement plaster finish.6. Refinish floor of Chiller Room B115 with epoxy coating, excluding raised equipment pads.7. Provide TPO roof membrane on "Dens-Deck" over existing Cafeteria and Foyer roofs. 8. Re-seal and repair the "AT" Building and "AAS" Building metal roofs, including the associated vestibule roofs.9. In Men's Toilet Room 1024 and Women's Toilet Room 1030 replace all partitions and provide specified accessories and automatic flush valves at water closets and sensor-operated faucets at lavatories.10. Replace existing Conference Room 2025 operable partition system with new system.
Offer range is between $250,000 and $500,000 with a performance time of approximately 120 calendar days. The Request For Offer is anticipated to be available by July/August 2008. Construction start is anticipated for August/September 2008. Offerors will be required to submit comparable project references with offer.This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
