NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The U.S. General Services Administration, Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), formerly Federal Technology Service, intends to issue a task order to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) through their subsidiary, Exploranium under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 via reference number 4QDO57080027. This is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a task order. REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source task to SAIC through Exploranium, for the procurement of service, maintenance, repair and calibration services on seven (7) AT-980 Radiation Portal Monitors (RPMs) located at three (3) Air Force facilities. This type of service for these devices is only available through SAIC/Exploranium. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses will be issued in accordance with FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. All information should be submitted via email ONLY to Joyce Mayberry at joyce.mayberry@gsa.gov. Responses must be submitted by close of business July 3, 2008. All information submitted on or before this date will be considered by the Government; however, the determination not to compete this requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the Governments discretion. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to procure these services competitively.
