Synopsis:

The National Institutes of Health, Office of Logistics Acquisitions Management intend to negotiate on a sole sources basis with Ms. Marguerite Meitzler under Simplified Acquisition Procedures to provide NIH graduate students and postdoctoral fellows training in improving their scientific writing skills using other than full and open competition procedures pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 13.106-1(b). Attachment of Statement of Work has been provided. The Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE) has identified Ms. Marguerite Meitzler as the only known source with the required combination of skills: knowledge of and experience with NIH educational program; extensive training, experience and expertise in teaching skills involved in the preparation of writing and publishing scientific papers; extensive experience as scientific editor; and wide ranging first-hand knowledge of the publication process as it applies to scientific manusscripts. All of these attributes are required to assist in the successful development and implementation of this science communication program.



This is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for quotations or proposals and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. The North American Industry Classification Code is 541990 and the business size standard is $6.5 million. Any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement.
