One School Psychologist to provide all school psychology services for Metropolitan State Hospital special education students ages 18-22 to include but not limited to the following: Assessments/Evaluations; the development of behavioral support plans; participation in IEPs and other related duties as it applies to special education. The work week will consist of an average of 40 hours per week. 1.Primary responsibility of the School Psychologist is to provide assessments to determine eligibility for Special Education Services for 18-22 year old individuals. Evaluate students progress (identifying strengths and weaknesses) using a variety of psycho-educational instruments 2.To complete new student intakes which includes: a.Review of intake packets, including IEP, outside reports, student interviews etc. b. Obtaining signed assessment plan/consent for assessment from student, parents, guardian or conservator as appropriate. 3.For annual and triennial evaluations a. Design personalized assessment battery for each student in order to obtain a current level of functioning to include educational achievement, oral language ability, visual-perceptual skills, cognitive functioning, social emotional/behavior. b. Core tests administered, analyzing results, summarizing observations, making recommendations and writing up report. c.Follow procedure for maintaining test protocol confidentiality. d. Based on assessment findings refer students for further in-dept evaluations i.e. Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy etc. e.Report results at appropriate team meetings/IEP. f. Meet with classroom teacher to review and discuss obtained scores and to select possible goals and objectives. 4. Function as case manager for Behavior Support Plans and/or Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Identify need for such plans, collaborate with MSH staff and teacher in writing the plan, train and monitor staff in implantation of plan. Contractor must Posses CA State School Psychology Credential. |
