Synopsis:

Synopsis: The US Forest Service intends to negotiate a sole source contract with WCC Global Satellite Communications for 30 hand held satellite phones. The hand held satellite phones shall allow individuals or small teams to travel and operate remotely and have voice capability. Coverage area must include Alaska, Canada, the 48 contiguous states and the Caribbean. Provider must have the capability to provide custom solutions for unique applications and their carrier must have a call dropped rate of no more than 5% and a connection rate of 98% or better based on independent studies. Phones and service comes with a US based Service Level Agreement for repairs and customer service.

This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contracting Officer within (5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, Forest Service Contracting, 3833 S. Development Ave, Boise ID, 83705 or via fax to (208) 387-5384. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Forest Service will proceed with the sole source negotiation with WCC Global Satellite Communications.
