| Description: |
Continuation of the service component only, to allow for operation of satellite phone hardware is sought.
The federal awarding authority, ASPR, considers interoperable communications a "level-one sub-capability" that all states participating in the national program must achieve as participants and recipients of federal award dollars, for a program of hospital emergency preparedness.
The MDPH has previously purchased satellite phone equipment and service through RFR 609908 to allow all acute care hospitals in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to communicate with DPH and others in an emergent event, when conventional phone services (landlines and wireless services) may become unavailable. Hospitals and DPH partners utilize satellite communications to allow for communications to occur during critical periods when conventional telephone services may be unavailable. As such, satellite communications are integral components of the Commonwealth's emergency preparedness communications plan.
To allow for continuation of the availability of satellite communications, vendor response is requested. |
