The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Western Service Area is soliciting competitive proposals for a contractor to renovate and refurbish various areas of the Salt Lake City Air Route Traffic Control Center. The project includes removal and replacement of existing interior finishes, miscellaneous demolition and construction of new office spaces, walls, floors, and ceilings, painting, electrical lighting, electrical circuit work, furnishing and installing an extension to an exterior glass vestibule and an exterior awning, HVAC system modification, concrete barrier and retaining wall construction, asphalt pavement work, and ACM mastic and VCT removal/installation work.
The estimated dollar value for this contract is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00
THIS ACQUISITION IS PLANNED AS A SET-ASIDE FOR SOCIALLY & ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS CONCERNS (SEDB). The SEDB firms competing for this acquisition shall be certified and be in good standing as an 8(a) contractor with the Small business Administration. Certification documents shall be required when submitting offers. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220. For this NAICS code a small business is defined as a size standard with a maximum size standard of $31 million.
A mandatory site visit at the Salt Lake City ARTCC Building is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. Contact Mike Fitch at 801-712-1076 or 801-320-2522 for contact information and building security issues.

NOTICE for informational purposes for Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts.
