| Opportunity Summary |
Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) serves the public safety
community (police, corrections, fire, parole and probation, emergency medical dispatch
(EMD), telecommunications, polygraph, and private security) both as a regulatory agency
(Standards and Certification) and training facility (Training Division). On the regulatory
side we track officers' employment, training and education history. This information is
used to approve and track certification status and levels. On the training side, we run an
academy that houses and conducts the basic and advanced training classes for police,
corrections, parole and probation, EMD, telecommunications, fire, supervisory and middle
manage
The defensive tactics equipment will be used at the training facility for the basic
students and instructors to wear when they are doing physical combat with each other in
hand to hand combat. The gear will protect the student and instructors from physical harm
from hand to hand combat and the use of Simunition rounds that are used in training.
Awards will go by item(s); the vendor can bid on one or all items. This is a multi award
contract that will go to lowest responsible and responsive bidder per item(s). This
opportunity is to notify vendors the agency at its discretion may purchase like item(S)
that doesn't exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) per commodity for the biennium
ending 6/30/09
