THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF NOTIFYING INDUSTRY OF INSTALLATION CONTRACTING COMMAND, SOUTHERN REGION CONTRACTING CENTER - EAST (ICC-SRCC-E) INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT EXTENSION TO CRAWFORD COMMUNICATIONS, INC TO PERFORM SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF US ARMY CENTRAL (USARCENT).

The Southern Region Contracting Center-East, Fort McPherson, GA 30330-1096 will extend the contract with Crawford Communications, Inc. on a sole source basis for a sixty (60)day period beginning 16 April 2008 to 15 June 2008. The extension will continue satellite communication system services called the Digital Imagery and Video Distribution System (DVIDS). The Digital Imagery and Video Distribution System Operations Hub (DVIDS Ops Hub) is designed to offer transport broadcast-quality video, 2-way data, stories, still s and other video and data, from various DVIDS Transmitters within Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Afghanistan and other locations worldwide, back to a local commercial satellite hub and distribution center in Atlanta. The Hub supports Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom by providing the capability to transmit, distribute and market visual information (Public Affairs, AFRTS and Joint Combat Camera) products to the US and international media outlets in support of the Central Command Commanders communication objectives. Services include commercial satellite usage (uplink and downlink 24-hours/7-days a week), content storage, facilities, labor, web development and management, marketing, and robust internet distribution. Crawford Communications, Inc. is the present incumbent contractor and is in position to continue services without interruption. The 60-day contract extension will allow this office time to complete procurement actions for a full and open competitive long term solution to obtaining required satellite communications services. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 517410, small business size standard is $13.5 million.
