DESCRIPTION OF WORK-The work to be performed is described in general, non-inclusive terms and includes furnishing all labor, material and equipment necessary to construct the following: 1. Perform a 10 € wet tap of a 30 € raw waterline; 2. Construction of approximately 100 linear feet of 10 € PVC waterline; 3. Cut an existing 10 € PVC return flow waterline and install a tee and two plug valves; 4. Cut an existing 24 € raw waterline and install a 24 € gate valve and pre-cast manhole; and 5. Restore the project area upon completion of construction. EXAMINING AND ACQUIRING DOCUMENTS A. Contract Documents, including Plans and Specifications are on file and may be examined at the following locations: Brazos River Authority Freese and Nichols, Inc. 4600 Cobbs Drive 4055 International Plaza, Suite 200 Waco, Texas 76710 Fort Worth, Texas 76109-4895 Attention: Lupe Diaz Attention: Debby Greer, Construction Services B. Contract Documents, may be purchased from the offices of Freese and Nichols, Inc., consulting engineers at the above address. C. The cost of Contract Documents is: Half Size Documents $ 50 per set The cost of Contract Documents is not refunded. Submit check, cashier check or money order for payment. Cash will not be accepted. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a five percent (5%) bid security as described in Section 00100 € Instructions to Bidders. QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS A. The Bidder shall have ten (10) years of successful experience constructing waterlines. The firm shall have satisfactorily completed at least two projects consisting of water or wastewater pipeline construction of at least 18-inch diameter and length of at least one mile, and of similar scope to this project. CONTRACT SECURITY: The successful Bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds. RIGHT TO ACCEPT AND REJECT BIDS: The Brazos River Authority reserves the right to wave irregularities and to reject bids. If case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating prices, the Brazos River Authority reserves the right to adopt the most advantageous Bid, or to reject any and all Bids, or to waive formalities. No bid may be withdrawn within ninety (90) days after date on which bids are opened. VISITING THE SITE: No pre-bid conference will be held. Any person or persons visiting the work site shall make an appointment to be scheduled by email. Any person or persons visiting the work site shall submit their name and date of birth at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the site visit date to allow a security background check by BRA Law Enforcement officers. Personnel must be cleared prior to accessing the work site. Submit name and date of birth by email to Mike Meadows, P.E. at mikem@brazos.org with the title € BRA SWATS Valve Installation Site Visit Request € in the subject line to make an appointment. Site visits will not be scheduled within and including five (5) calendar days prior to the bid opening date. Any person not submitting the required information in time may not be allowed to visit the site.
