This is a Small Business Set-aside. The solicitation, Q1766080010, will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about September 2, 2008. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Description:The Contractor shall furnish all equipment and sufficient personnel for selected maintenance (ie: tree, shrub, pruning, and cabling (if required), (61 estimated trees and 70 estimated shrubs on all NPS property - See attached drawing) and all related incidental work as in accordance with the bid schedule, specifications and attached drawings as stated herein. Therefore, any items not specifically noted, but necessary for performance in accordance with accepted industry standards, shall be furnished under this contract.Nearly all trees, shrubs are located within developed areas containing pedestrians, vehicles, utilities, and structures. The quantities of work shown on the bid schedule are strictly estimates. Contractor will only be paid for actual work accomplished. Work performed under this contract may commence on/after October 1st 2008. The contractor shall not subcontract any work required by this contract without the express written approval of the Contracting Officer (CO). If the CO approves the Contractor to subcontract any part of the work required under this contract, a copy of any such subcontract shall be provided to the CO. Further detail is contained in the Statement of Work attached to the Request for Quotation. LOCATION: Governors Island National Monument, New York, NY 10004-1900. The NAICS code for this project is 561730 and the small business size standard is $7.0 million. Contract performance will be for 45 days beginning after Notice to Proceed is issued between October 1, and October 15, 2008. This procurement is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued under the provisions of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Parts 12 and 13. A site visit can be arranged by contacting Ed Lorenzini at (212) 825-3050, ed_lorenzini@nps.gov. Responses are due September 12, 2008.
