Synopsis:

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Augusta GA, VISN 7, contemplates negotiation of a sole source procurement with Comcast Cable, 1131 Whigham Pl, Tuscaloosa AL 35404 for cable/hi-speed internet service. There is an agreement with the cable companies in Tuscaloosa AL which delineates the geographical area of town to which each company provides cable service. The period of performance for this procurement will be August 1, 2008 through September 30, 2008 with four one year renewal options that may be exercised at the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 517919 with a size standard of $23 Million. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, the government will consider all proposals received within 3 days after publication of this synopsis. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting literature, detailing how their products/services meet VA requirements, to the Contracting Officer by fax 478-274-5588. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Solicitation will be issued on or about June 23. 2008.
