Synopsis:

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number W31P4Q-08-T-0613 is being issued as a request for quote. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. CLIN 0001 will be issued for 120 each round blocks of 8 inches diameter x 3 inches thick Grade 4340 Steel AMS 6415. CLIN 0002 will be issued for 120 each Round Blocks of 4 inches diameter x 3 inches thick Grade 4340 Steel AMS 6415. Material must meet Hardness requirements of 294-331 Brinell hardness. Material may be saw cut from larger billets with sawed surfaces ground flat to allow blocks to be stacked with little or no air gap between blocks. The place of delivery, acceptance and FOB point is U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, 35898, marked for the attention of Joey Reed, phone (256) 876-0372. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the Agency, if received by July 21, 2008 noon, local time. Any award resulting from this RFQ will be issued on Standard Form 1449 and will contain all clauses required by law, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) as appropriate for the dollar value of the award. Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial; Provision 52.212-2, Evaluation Commercial Items, The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, lowest price, technically acceptable; Clause 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items, offerors must include a completed copy with the offer or notice that online representations and certifications have been completed; Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items; and Clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items, are applicable to this acquisition.
