Synopsis:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health, Division of Laboratory Science, intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order, in accordance with FAR Part 12, using simplified acquisition procedures, to Corbett Robotics, Inc., 185 Berry Street, San Francisco, CA 94017-1791. Corbett Robotics is the only known source that manufactures and distributes the CAS-1200 Single Channel 6 position deck liquid handling robot, UV and HEPA filter, w/laptop pc. The CAS-1200 Robot is the only commercially available instrument that interfaces with, or is compatiable to the GeneXtractor robot presently used by the CDC, Division of Laboratory Science. CDC anticipates soliciting and awarding a purchase order only one source under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1) permitting other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source and no other equipment or supplies will satisfy agency requirements. Corbett Robotics is only known source available to provide a product that meets mission critical requirements. No Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested parties may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform/provide this effort, in writing to Mr. Richard Jenkins, via email ONLY at rbj@cdc.gov with reference number (2008-60459) reference in the subject line, no later than 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, August 13, 2008.
