Synopsis:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health, Division of Laboratory Science, intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order, in accordance with FAR Part 12, using simplified acquisition procedures, to Calper Life Sciences, Inc., 68 Elm Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748-1602. Caliper Life Sciences is the only known source that manufactures and distributes the Twister II 5 axis Cylindrical Robot, D Block System Table, w/telescoping arm, Conversion Kit - T2 with Non Pods, Hyperstak Automated Plate/Tip storage/Dispenser 48 position - Staccato or Ensemble System, Digital Control Unit Module, i1000 contract Services, Staccato System Integration (Includes Project Management, system design, system build, customer method programming and otimization, FAT & SAT), 2 Each. The Robot, Twister II 5 axis Cylindrical is only commercially available instrument that intergates with or is compatiable to existing instrumentation in CDC/Division of Laboratory Science. CDC anticipates soliciting and awarding a purchase order only one source under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1) permitting other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source and no ther equipment or supllies will satisfy agency requirements. Caliper Life Science, Inc. is the only known source available to provide a product that meets mission critical requirements. No Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued based upon this Notice in Intent.
